In the Finnish Tradition (Little Finland)
3 days / 2 nights
Thunder Bay boasts the largest Finnish population outside of Scandinavia. Finns love the outdoors, good food and their Sauna!
Your fireplace suite accommodations overlook Thunder Bay's beautiful harbour. Your tastebuds will be treated to tasty thin, Finnish pancakes or Kala mojakka (fish soup) at Bay Street’s famous HOITO restaurant, written up several times as one of the ‘best places to eat in Canada’. Buy fresh scented soaps or sauna brushes as you shop at Finnport, Finntastics or the Finnish Book and Kitchen Store along Bay Street. You can sauna privately in your own suite of 3 rooms at Kangas Sauna, at the hotel or, in winter, at Lappe Nordic Ski Centre after a day of X-country skiing.
