Mink Mountain at Lake Superior's Mink Bay (35 minutes south of Thunder Bay and just 20 minutes from the US Minnesota border at Pigeon River is quite simply a spectacular setting! The 9 rental cottages face south and overlook a myriad of ancient islands carved out of the Canadian Shield which invite you to explore them.
On-site hiking trails and cross-country ski trails make this location a four season destination. Canoe and mountain bike rentals can be arranged at the Lodge and premier green spaces and attractions are found within a 20-45 minute drive. After an active day, cook up a gourmet lakeside meal in your fully outfitted kitchen or deck barbeque.
Several options for day tripping are available – kayaking and canoeing, nature based hiking and in winter dog-sledding or ice fishing. You are very close to some of Ontario’s finest provincial parks – Quetico, Sleeping Giant, Kakabeka and Ouimet Canyon. Other attractions not to miss include the amethyst mines, Eagle Canyon and its two suspension bridges (Canada's longest footbridge!), Fort William Historical Park, rural, historical and children's museums, the Thunder Bay Art Gallery and nearby Eagle Ridge Trout Ponds, a wonderful family activity.
