Larger cruiseships visit Lake Superior - in recent years, the Clelia II, the Orion, the Grand Mariner and the M.S. Columbus. The limitation is the Welland Canal and the Soo Locks - only ships of a certain width can navigate through the locks to enter into the waters of Lake Superior.

2014 Lake Superior Cruise
Travel Dynamics International is offering a June 2014 cruise to Lake Superior aboard the 130 passenger cruiseship MS Yorktown.  The June 21-28th sailing begins in Chicago and visits Manitowoc, WI, Manistique, MI, Mackinaw Island, SSMarie, Marathon, Red Rock, Thunder Bay and Grand Marais along the way to Duluth, MN. 

In August, the MS Yorktown sails again from Duluth and does the cruise in reverse order, finishing up in Chicago.  Dates are August 9-18, 2014.
