A unique opportunity here in Thunder Bay!!!Children from various parts of the world come to Thunder Bay every year to enjoy all the aspects of our great outdoors, fresh air, welcoming spirit and safe activities plus they learn a new language.
Foreign children spend 2 ˝ hours each day learning the words required for their activity of the day.
Canadian (English speaking children) learn the same words in Spanish.
Yes - language and fun in the same camp.

McIntyre River Kayaking

40 Words a Day
Each day the children are taught 40 words for the theme of the day.For example if today’s lessons deal with sailing on Lake Superior, the children learn 40 specific words necessary in sailing.Each day is a new adventure. Canoeing, kayaking, dragonboating are only some of our water activities.Visit an ancient canyon, become a geologist and mine Ontario’s gemstone, the Amethyst.Each day offers 2 different activities for all the chirdren to enjoy.
Other activities include a specialized overnight at FortWilliamHistoricalPark.Come and relive history.Or even a 3 day overnight camping excursion at our famous SleepingGiantProvincialPark.Amethyst

Safe and Secure
Besides all the fun and learning we have designed a safe and secure program.Our staff are all certified with first aid and water safety.Police and reference checks are a must.Plus we have very limited down time.The students are busy from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.All meals are created by our in-house culinary team.

Specialized Clinics

Six (6) specialized clinics are also available (limited availability). These are one week intensive camps.  Clinics include:

  • Scuba Diving 1 (for students 8 – 11 years) Earn your Junior Rangers International certificate

  • Scuba Diving 2 (for students 12 years +) Earn your international Open Water Scuba Diver license

  • Aviation Earn your Canadian Aeronautical Radio License and enjoy the world of aviation from float planes, helicopters, simulator flight and more

  • Horseback Riding From grooming, riding and your own competition with an international renowned instructor

  • Sailing Earn your white sail level 1 national sailing certificate right on Lake Superior

  • Theater The arts are a major part of our lives…students will join together to produce, direct and present a formal play or mini film. Local and foreign drama professionals are there to lead the students.

  • Leadership and First Aid Training. (for students 12 years +) work on team building, positive mental attitudes, motivation and more. Plus earn your Canadian Red Cross First Aid Certificate.

We supply all the required equipment.All you need to supply is a student who carries a smile. Parents and students alike have been thrilled with the results.
